HOW TO MAKE A RESERVATION
For your information, our website is secure. However, you can download the reservation form if preferred and either fax or send it to us with £50 sterling deposit (for Manchester Airport deposit may vary). We will confirm your booking and that our representative will meet you on your arrival. In the event of cancellation we will refund the deposit provided we have 7 days notice.
HOW TO PAY
The rental is payable in full two days before delivery of the car by credit card only in the name of the main driver. We accept Visa and Mastercard.
DRIVING LICENCES
A full Driving Licence (not necessarily British) must be produced by the hirer and any other nominated drivers for inspection at the time of delivery. A full Driving Licence must have been in force for 12 months prior to the commencement of the hire (under 25s must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 2 years) and be free from endorsements other than for speeding or technical offences. Minimum age is 21 years old and maximum age is 70 years old (ages 71 to 75 with approval from our insurance company).
INSURANCE
In addition to passenger liability, which is unlimited, our insurance covers unlimited third party claims. Our "Visitors to Britain and Expatriates" tariff includes the Collision Damage Waiver Fee which limits the liability of the Hirer for accident damage to the hired vehicle to £500 (to waive the £500 excess, see Optional Extras). The hirer is liable for any excess until the vehicle is either returned to a Carquest office for inspection or until collected by a Carquest representative and taken to a Carquest office for inspection.
DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
We can deliver your rental car to any airport, dock, hotel or private address in the UK. We will need to know the flight number or name of the ship. This will enable us to keep in contact with the air or shipping line and allow for any variation from the scheduled arrival time. Our representative, displaying your name, will be waiting to meet you at the 'information' desk as you exit the customs hall.
Rates quoted are inclusive of delivery and collection at:
London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Stansted, Luton, London City Airport and Manchester.
Available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Additional surcharge for one-way rentals.
TAKING OVER THE CAR
When you are taking over the car at an airport or seaport we will have notified you of the meeting arrangements. You will be required to give a few particulars, show your licence (your additional drivers will also be required to show theirs) and the credit card used for payment. The Carquest representative will hand over your credit card receipt, a copy of the rental agreement and a wallet containing a UK road map as well as a breakdown and drop off procedure. We will escort you to your car (which if you are arriving at an airport will be conveniently situated in the car park right next to your arrival terminal - we ask you to cover the short term parking cost (usually under £5) whilst our representative is waiting for you). The vehicle will have been filled with fuel at our depot, some of which may have been used for delivery. This will be charged to you along with your rental. Cars should be returned with an empty tank.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST
Our rental charges are shown on the tariff sheet and include all taxes and are for unlimited mileage.
TERMINATION
Notice of early termination must be given at least 7 days in advance as otherwise the full charge will be incurred.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
1. Additional driver - £2.50 per day (maximum charge £75)
2. Baby seat/Child seat (for the duration of the hire) - £30
3. Booster seat (for the duration of the hire) - £20
4. Booster cushion (for the duration of the hire) - £10
5. Continental use, including Southern Ireland - £25 per day (minimum charge £60)

6. Carquest Extra Cover. For just £7.50 a day (maximum charge of 25 days) you can waive all liability for accidental damage, tyres, windscreens and theft. From experience we recommend you take this option (most of our customers do) as minor damage is often unavoidable when cars are left unattended. If extra cover is not purchased we will require a £500 credit card deposit, fully refundable at the end of the hire, provided the car is undamaged.
7. Satellite navigation. £7 per day (minimum charge £49). Please note that the Extra Cover will not cover the equipment in the event of damage or theft. You will be liable for the repair or replacement of the satellite navigation equipment and any of its accessories if the equipment is not returned as received.
